Open Days are postponed for the foreseeable due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. When it is safe to do so then, families, friends and anyone interested in sampling our hospitality and surroundings can spend the day with us from morning coffee through to afternoon tea. Enjoy great food, a glass of wine as well as whatever activity or entertainment is planned for the afternoon. You are also welcome to view one of our refurbished rooms. The cost is just £5 and transport is possible on request.
Anyone is welcome to the majority of our events and activities. Moving into residential care can be difficult, but it can be much easier if you get to know us first. Even if you don’t ever come and live with us on a full-time basis, we would be delighted to welcome you to our events and enjoy the great food as well as the social side of Westlands.
We have recently introduced an activities coordinator, Mary, who will be coming up with some good ideas to engage all of our residents. However we will be continuing with some of our regular activities which include ‘Games with Carol’, ‘Nostalgic Discussions with Margaret’. Other regular activities at Westlands include group crosswords, manicures, hand massages, a reading group, seated exercises and film afternoons. Residents enjoy trips out around the region or coffee mornings in local cafe’s. Our hairdresser visits once a week and we also have regular visits from a chiropodist.
We have linked up with the Alice Cross Centre which has given us the opportunity to expand our activities in Westlands but also the chance to take residents to the Alice Cross centre for different events.
